The AUWU Communications Team handles our communications with our members, the media, other organisations and the general public. Put your social media savvy, your way with words, or your talent with graphics to good use!

Audio Visual Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Create film and photographic content as directed by Communications Coordinator
  • Place content on digital platforms (facebook, youtube etc)
  • Liaise with Media Officers
  • Create records of AUWU events
  • Coordinate recordings of AUWU events
  • Coordinate production of AUWU audio/visual recordings
  • Report to Communications Coordinator
  • Archive A-V materials as needed
Additional
  • Recruit and mentor new A-V Officers
  • Attend meetings and participate in correspondence via email/phone

 


Events Officer

Roles and Responsibilities

Core
  • Assist in coordinating Events nationally and assisting branches and Branch Coordinators when required
  • Be available by phone and email during mutually agreed hours
  • Report to Campaigns Coordinator
Additional
  • Schedule meetings and/or correspondence via email/phone
  • Liaise with other working groups as needed
  • Recruit and mentor new Events Officers

 


Graphic Design Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Design print and digital material as needed
  • Report to Communications Coordinator
  • Be available by phone and email during mutually agreed hours
Additional
  • Recruit and mentor new Graphic Design Officers
  • Liaise with Campaigns Coordinator
  • Liaise with other working groups as needed

Inclusion Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Ensure AUWU content and events are inclusive
  • Grow the diversity of the AUWU active membership base
  • Conduct outreach campaigns as needed
  • Liaise with other CALD communities as needed
  • Report directly to COM
  • Liaise with Operations Coordinator
Additional
  • Liaise with other working groups as needed
  • Recruit and mentor new Inclusion Officers

Media Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Liaise with media contacts to get AUWU content into the media
  • Write and commission articles on AUWU related material
  • Implement media strategy
  • Build media list
  • Be available by phone and email during mutually agreed hours
  • Create social media content and post in social media coordination group
  • Report to Communications Coordinator
Additional
  • Liaise with other working groups as needed
  • Recruit and mentor new Media Officers

Newsletter Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Oversee the production of the Fightback newsletter
  • Be available by phone and email during mutually agreed hours
  • Report to Communications Coordinator

Outreach Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Conduct outreach to other organisations
  • Grow and strengthen AUWU relationships with allied organisations
  • Be available by phone and email during mutually agreed hours.
  • Report to Communications Coordinator
Additional

  • Recruit and mentor new Outreach Officers

Social Media Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Monitor and administer facebook and twitter in accordance with the AUWU Facebook Code of Conduct
  • Devise social media strategy in line with COM strategic direction
  • Review stories and post online where appropriate
  • Be available by phone and email during mutually agreed hours
  • Report to Communications Coordinator
Additional
  • Liaise with other working groups as needed
  • Recruit and mentor new Social Media Officers
  • Attend meetings and participate in correspondence via email/phone

Website Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core
  • Monitor, maintain and ensure functionality of website
  • Create new website content as directed
  • Delegate website sections to members as appropriate, for example, event listings
  • Be available by phone and email during mutually agreed hours
  • Report to Communications Coordinator
  • Liaise with Campaigns Coordinator
