It was reported In the Guardian Thursday 3rd of May, that you said on the ABC that you could “live on 40 bucks a day knowing that the government is supporting me with Newstart looking for employment.”
I would like to invite you to live up to your words and live on unemployment benefits on $40 a day in the same conditions as the unemployed for at least a year because the majority of the unemployed are thrown on to the scrapheap for much longer than that.
After all, a person should lead by example and not by rhetoric. Wouldn’t you agree?
In finishing, do you still stand by your statement? If you don’t, then would you be gracious enough to issue a public retraction of your statement?
