Get Involved with the AUWU

Here are some simple but effective actions you can take to give the unemployed a voice.

  1. Share the AUWU sign-up form through your email, Facebook or Twitter accounts.
  2. Like the AUWU Facebook page. Share our Facebook posts.
  3. Join the discussions on our Facebook page (influence others with your opinions).
  4. Tell your story of unemployment, and join the discussion on the AUWU website forum (help others realise they are not alone).
  5. Like and comment on our YouTube videos (influence others with your opinions).
  6. Promote our Advocacy Hotline throughout your networks using the AUWU video here .
  7. Promote our Unemployed Workers’ Rights booklet (help other unemployed workers learn about their rights).
  8. Contact us if you would like to organise a “Your Rights” workshop, based on the booklet.
  9. Print and hand out our AUWU leaflets on unemployment campaigns and joining the AUWU (post in cafes, bookshops, laundromats, community noticeboards etc, contact us if you would like us to send you some printouts).
  10. Get involved with your local AUWU branch (go to a meeting, a good way to meet like-minded people). If there is no branch in your local area, contact us to set one up.
  11. Join an online AUWU National Working Group
  12. Come to AUWU events (another good way to meet like-minded people)
  13. Staff the AUWU Hotline (contact us if you would like to be trained up on this).
  14. Last but not least, donate to the AUWU.
